A city whose inhabitants lives underground




Coober Pedy, is a town located below the surface of the earth in South Australia, and looks the life completely non-existent in the above ground in that region, due to the high temperatures which, where more than temperature about 43°C, as where there are dust storms strong, and this is the reason that payment of the inhabitants of this town to escape to the underground to live in a custom houses dug into the rock.


When looking at the scene of the place, we can not imagine that there is large city the bottom surface of the earth!

This city was founded in 1915 when it was agate stone for the first time discovered in the region and began miners in work houses to live in the region, and because of the intolerance of the population there to high temperature and dust storms, have continued to dig tunnels and build housing under the ground.


Over time, Coober Pedy city has become a contain a 1500 built house under the ground, and home to about 2,000 people, these homes include all the modern amenities, and modern communications and corridors to move between houses various shops, and places of entertainment and recreation.
